We live in a busy world that’s always in motion. As we move through it daily, it becomes easy to see that change continues to occur at a steady pace, sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. One facet of the world that isn’t always changing for the better is the environment. The climate is changing rapidly, leaving many to fear the effects of global warming.

One initiative designed to create awareness for how we treat the world around us is Earth Hour, an event where “millions of people, businesses, and landmarks [globally] set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and make noise for climate change action.”

Healing Yoga - Earth Hour 2017

This year, Earth Hour occurs on Saturday, March 25 at 8:30pm local time. To help generate further awareness for this important happening, “Healing Yoga” has shared a video of five gentle yoga practices designed to “help you feel grounded, safe, supported and fully rested,” so that you can make the most out of your Earth Hour.

Featured in the 11-minute video below, viewers are treated to a series of healthy gentle yoga tips, including:

Tip #1: Balasana (Child’s Pose)
Calms the brain; relieves stress and fatigue.

Tip #2: Upavistha Konasan (Seated Forward Fold)
Stretches legs and spine; releases the groin.

Tip #3: Reclining Twist
Rinses internal organs and realigns the spine.

Tip #4: Prasarita Padottanasana

Tip #5: Elevated Leg Savasana
Improves circulation; grounds the body and mind.
