It’s that time of year again when many of us are looking to shed the pounds and lead a healthier lifestyle. But where to start? Now, in a transformative new series, Tom Kerridge gives us all the tools we need to achieve that better version of ourselves.

The series is packed with delicious, easy-to-cook recipes which the Michelin-starred chef has devised to help us lose weight. Plus we’re given easy, gym-free exercise routines to follow which we can do anytime and anywhere to get us moving.

This is the closest thing we’ll get to a guaranteed leaner, healthier lifestyle for the year ahead. And for Tom, this time it’s personal.

“I lost loads of weight a few years ago but lately I’ve seen it creeping back on. And recently I’ve not been exercising as much. I’m sure I’m not alone in making positive changes in my life then finding myself slipping back into old ways.”

So Tom has decided to reboot his eating and exercise habits and has invited us to join him on a New Year’s resolution challenge; to spend two months following the NHS’s advice on weight loss and fitness – and seeing what difference this can make.

“This isn’t about fitness fads or crash diets,” explains Tom. “I want to see what we can achieve by simply following doctor’s orders and sticking to it for a couple of months. I’m hoping to prove that a pain-free lifestyle change will do the trick!”

Tom won’t be working alone. He’s recruited a gang of volunteers to join him. They all want – and need – to lose weight and get fit and are hoping Tom’s challenge will succeed where other methods they’ve tried before have failed.

The series follows Tom and his gang for two months as they work towards permanent, positive changes in their lives. There are triumphs to spur them on, as the weight drops off and they get stronger and healthier. But there are struggles too, which we can all identify with; the pressures of work and family life, dips in willpower, temptation, discouragement.

But when the two months are up and their health improvements are revealed, will anyone regret their decision to embark on Tom’s life-changing adventure? And how much difference does following this simple regime make in such a short space of time?
