Little Dorrit, the gripping period drama series adapted for television by acclaimed screenwriter and Emmy and BAFTA winner Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Vanity Fair), brings to life Charles Dickens’s powerful story of struggle and hardship in 1820s London.

When Arthur Clennam (Matthew Macfadyen) returns to England after many years, his curiosity is piqued by the presence in his mother’s house of a young seamstress, Amy Dorrit (Claire Foy), born and raised in the Marshalsea prison for debtors in London. But Mrs. Clennam (Judy Parfitt) isn’t usually given to charity, so why has she made an exception in adopting Amy? Arthur tries to discover the truth that takes him to the Marshalsea Prison for Debt, where he befriends Amy’s father, William Dorrit (Tom Courteney).

Where will Arthur’s quest to discover the truth leave him in the scheme of things? And where will it leave the Dorrits?
