We all could use a little relax-and-escape-time somewhere in our active days, right? That’s one reason why one of Britain’s longest running and most loved soaps is now airing on ONE! Airing on ITV since 1972, the BAFTA-winning Emmerdale explores contemporary social issues and the interpersonal drama of a diverse cast of characters living in a small, fictional English village. Tune in Mondays through Saturdays at 7:30pm ET for episodes only 3 weeks behind their UK premiere dates. We will also encore each week’s episodes in an omnibus format every Sunday from 1 to 4pm ET.

Plus, we’re launching an exciting new watch and win contest to celebrate Emmerdale joining our schedule. From Oct. 5 through Nov. 7, watch Emmerdale Mondays through Saturdays, spot our Get Fit Icons when they appear and enter for your chance to win 1 of 3, $250 online shopping sprees with AbitofHome.ca, the best of Ireland and Britain!

With a massive base of die-hard fans from around the world, Emmerdale is celebrated for its commitment to not to shy away from any issue, no matter how controversial. These beloved characters have been through it all, from addressing sexual assault and racism to getting tangled in affairs and murder, there’s never a shortage of drama in the world of Emmerdale.

Now in its 48th year on air, the series is running stronger than ever with a constant rotation of new characters and storylines shaking things up. This season, more big changes are expected, including three important new characters who will be the catalyst for some major storylines.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be moving into Emmerdale village as Mackenzie” says actor Lawrence Robb on the addition of his character. “I have had so much fun playing around with the character already, and to do it in Britain’s most famous village is just the cherry on top. I couldn’t be further from ‘Mac’ in real life, so playing him will no doubt have its challenges, but I’m more than up for the ride! I can’t wait to don my wellies and wreak some havoc.”

After a setback with filming earlier this year due to the pandemic-related shutdown, show runner Jane Hudson has celebrated its return, along with the return to production of other famous soaps.

“I’m really proud of all of us, I put a message on Facebook last night saying that there’s brand new episodes of Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders on the telly tonight and a huge congratulations to all of us because I think for all the soaps to be back on screen and back to full volume next week, it’s an incredible achievement.

‘We’ve all been massively supportive of each other. For us, the future is looking bright – we have some great storylines coming up!’
