On How To Lose Weight Well Dr. Xand van Tulleken and dietician Hala El-Shafie ask members of the public to road test the most hyped up and written about diets on the market today. They divide the dieters into three timeframes; CRASHERS on short term diets, SHAPE SHIFTERS on six week programmes and LIFE CHANGERS on four month dieting plans. Café cook Stacie Stewart helps the volunteers to turn their diets into delicious dishes.

This week Rachael and Katie have ten days to slim down for a weekend getaway, twins Phil and Simon go on six week dieting plans to lose their love handles before their 26th birthday, and sisters Betty and Fei want to slim down for a friends reunion in four months’ time.
Xand also investigates over the counter diet products and sheds light on ‘virtual gastric band surgery’, a form of weight loss hypnosis that suggests to patients they had a gastric band fitted.

Xand also tries out DIY coffee enemas in a quest to stem his food cravings, and investigates what happens when ‘clean eating’ diets take over your life.

This week Natasha and Jodian have two weeks to slim down for a week in Egypt, best mates Mike and Steve want to lose a stone before Mike’s wedding and old pals Gina and Max want to lose two stone for a charity ball in four months time.
Xand also finds out about new diet called the KEN diet which which involves a protein solution being fed straight into the stomach via a feeding tube and investigates the dangers of unregulated diet pills being bought and sold on the internet.

Xand also investigates how exposure to extreme temperatures can affect weight loss and finds out if chewing for longer can make us eat fewer calories.
