An organic revolution is taking place in homes and business around the world. Organic products account for over $64 billion dollars spent worldwide annually. But what does organic really mean? How can consumers make informed decisions and separate fact from greenwashing, a practice that cares only about the bottom line?

The ONETV series Organic Panic challenges what has become the conventional wisdom of a global movement that affects every area of our lives. Now, two Organic Panic Christmas specials take focus specifically on aspects of the holidays like food, presents, decorations, the events and what role organics have to play in them.

An organically raised tree versus a plastic tree? Toys and gifts made with organically grown plants and animals versus conventional toys and gifts? The holidays are an expensive and stressful time. The “Christmas industrial complex” is massive and growing.

Can organics lessen the impact on our planet of the furious consumerism that surrounds Christmas? Do organics make a season of decadent indulgence any more healthy? Or is it all a marketing scam, just one more way to get consumers to open their wallets just a little wider over the holidays?

In Organic Panic Christmas: Decorations and Gifts, Decorator and TV Personality Ambrose Price shows Lou, Joanne and their two  children that a conventional Christmas is easier, more beautiful and ultimately, more enjoyable. Meanwhile, eco friendly designer and television personality Emanuel Belliveau makes the case that to truly enjoy Christmas you must embrace organic products.

In Organic Panic Christmas: Christmas Food, chef Miriam Streiman shows Gino, Catherine and their three older children how to cook an organic, as well as a conventional Christmas dinner.

Leading up to Miriam’s fabulous feast, Catherine, Gino and their family will visit and speak to the people who produce the food she prepares for them. After visiting the farms and stores where their Christmas meal originates and after seeing the preparation of their feast, will Gino, Catherine and their children choose an organic or conventional Christmas dinner?
